Day 1 Perth to Kalbarri

We suggest an early start to ensure you capture the sunset over the coastal cliffs at Kalbarri. Head north from Perth, following the signs to Geraldton through the coastal plain and northern wheatbelt area. Enjoy lunch in Geraldton, then take the turnoff at Northampton.Travel through the historic Hutt River Province and pass by the scenic coastal cliffs prior to your arrival in Kalbarri. We suggest you try the local fish for dinner tonight. Suggested overnight stay - Kalbarri Palms Resort.

As you head out towards the Northwest coastal highway, take the time to drive out to The Nature’s Window and Hawks Head for a spectacular view of the Murchison River gorges. A comfortable lunch stop is the Billabong Roadhouse and an interesting afternoon break is a visit to the historic Hamelin Pool telegraph station then head towards the original pearling town of Denham.The last 22 kilometres brings you through the world heritage Shark Bay region to the home of the world famous bottle nose dolphins of Monkey Mia. Day 3 Monkey Mia to Port Denison

The best time to visit the dolphins is early morning. If you wish, there is an optional cruise around the Shark Bay region then begin your journey south with a quick stop at the amazing Shell Beach. Head south when you reach the Overlander Roadhouse and make for the picturesque town of Port Denison, just a short drive to the coast from Dongara. Continue your journey south and leave the main highway just south of Dongara and follow the signs through the fishing villages of Leeman and Greenhead towards Cervantes. Stop for lunch then follow the road to Nambung National Park, home to the mysterious Pinnacles. Here you can follow the trail as you drive amongst these fascinating formations.There are places to pull over for photo opportunities and an interpretive centre to gather the necessary information on their formation. Day 5 Cervantes to Perth

The drive from here back to Perth will take about 3 hours so enjoy a leisurely breakfast and explore this unique fishing village famous for its Western Rock lobster. Also, in season between July and October, the area is prolific in wildflowers where natural kaleidoscopes are a photographer’s delight.
